Born and raised here in Rochester, Dr. Gino Sementa graduated from Greece Athena High School and began his college career at Monroe Community College. He later transferred to Cornell University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 2001. A childhood dream of becoming a Veterinarian led Dr. Sementa to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts where he lived for 2 1/2 years while attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following a 1 year clinical rotation at Purdue University, Dr. Sementa was awarded the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, finally realizing his lifelong dream. After graduating from veterinary medical school, Dr. Sementa moved to New York City where he completed a rigorous 13 month internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists, where he was able to hone his skills as both a clinician and a surgeon, while working closely with specialists in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Cardiology and Ophthalmology. His love for the Rochester area and his close knit family brought Dr. Sementa back to the area where he practiced for 7 years before he took over as Owner and Medical Director of Webster Veterinary Clinic in the spring of 2013.

Dr. Sementa regularly attends Continuing Education Seminars to broaden his knowledge. He also works closely with the Ross University Alumni Board, to help mentor and usher in the new era of veterinarians. Dr. Sementa’s professional interests include all facets of orthopedics and neurology, including surgery and post-operative physical therapy. He also continues to be fascinated with the up and coming fields of stem cell therapy and gene regulation.

In his spare time, Dr. Sementa can be seen in Webster with his wife (also a Veterinarian) and their two young sons. The Sementa’s currently share their home with a dog and two cats, all of whom they have rescued. He enjoys spending time with his ffamily, traveling, cooking, hockey and CrossFit.

Dr. Lewis decided in kindergarten, when her family adopted their first dog, that she wanted to be a veterinarian someday. She started working at an animal hospital at the age of 16, cleaning and taking care of the animals. After high school, she went to SUNY Geneseo and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. In 1998 she was accepted at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and spent the next two and a half years living and going to school on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2001. After graduation, Dr. Lewis started working as a general practitioner in small animal medicine. She worked at her first job for twelve and a half years, and then joined the staff of Webster Veterinary Clinic in 2014.

Dr. Lewis’s professional interests include preventative medicine and wellness care for dogs and cats. She enjoys parasitology, infectious diseases, and management of diabetic patients. She also enjoys taking care of greyhounds and other canine athletes, who often require specialized care for performance and general health. In 2010 Dr. Lewis obtained the title of Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner after a year of studying at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She served as the director of the Animal Rehabilitation Center of Rochester from 2009-2014. She enjoys working with pre and post surgical orthopedic patients, and those with neurologic disease, helping them to recover after surgery or injury. Dr. Lewis also works with the Monroe County Health Department at rabies clinics, providing free rabies shots to hundreds of pets in the community.

Outside of work, Dr. Lewis enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time outdoors trying to keep up with her husband and son! She currently has an elderly mixed breed dog that was adopted from St. Kitts, and a greyhound who had a brief career in the sport of lure coursing. She also has a snowshoe cat, who enjoys being handsome and cuddling with his mom. Dr. Lewis is happy to be a part of the Webster Veterinary Clinic team! She is excited to be able to care for pets and their families in the Webster area, where she and her family have decided to call home.
