Dr. Gino A. Sementa
Born and raised here in Rochester, Dr. Gino Sementa graduated from Greece Athena High School and began his college career at Monroe Community College. He later transferred to Cornell University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 2001. A childhood dream of becoming a Veterinarian led Dr. Sementa to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts where he lived for 2 1/2 years while attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following a 1 year clinical rotation at Purdue University, Dr. Sementa was awarded the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, finally realizing his lifelong dream. After graduating from veterinary medical school, Dr. Sementa moved to New York City where he completed a rigorous 13 month internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists, where he was able to hone his skills as both a clinician and a surgeon, while working closely with specialists in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Cardiology and Ophthalmology. His love for the Rochester area and his close knit family brought Dr. Sementa back to the area where he practiced for 7 years before he took over as Owner and Medical Director of Webster Veterinary Clinic in the spring of 2013.
Dr. Sementa is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York Veterinary Medical Society, and the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association, where he serves as an Executive Board Member. Dr. Sementa regularly attends Continuing Education Seminars to broaden his knowledge. He also works closely with the Ross University Alumni Board, to help mentor and usher in the new era of veterinarians. Dr. Sementa’s professional interests include all facets of orthopedics and neurology, including surgery and post-operative physical therapy. He also continues to be fascinated with the up and coming fields of stem cell therapy and gene regulation.
In his spare time, Dr. Sementa can be seen in Webster with his wife (also a Veterinarian) and their two young sons. The Sementa’s currently share their home with two dogs and four cats, all of whom they have rescued. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and living life to the fullest. He is also avid in CrossFit, and a HUGE Hockey fan (Go Sabres!). Dr. Sementa also loves cooking and enjoying food.
Dr. Susan Lewis
Dr. Lewis decided in kindergarten, when her family adopted their first dog, that she wanted to be a veterinarian someday. She started working at an animal hospital at the age of 16, cleaning and taking care of the animals. After high school, she went to SUNY Geneseo and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. In 1998 she was accepted at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and spent the next two and a half years living and going to school on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2001. After graduation, Dr. Lewis started working as a general practitioner in small animal medicine. She worked at her first job for twelve and a half years, and then joined the staff of Webster Veterinary Clinic in 2014.
Dr. Lewis’s professional interests include preventative medicine and wellness care for dogs and cats. She enjoys parasitology, infectious diseases, and management of diabetic patients. She also enjoys taking care of greyhounds and other canine athletes, who often require specialized care for performance and general health. In 2010 Dr. Lewis obtained the title of Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner after a year of studying at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She served as the director of the Animal Rehabilitation Center of Rochester from 2009-2014. She enjoys working with pre and post surgical orthopedic patients, and those with neurologic disease, helping them to recover after surgery or injury. Dr. Lewis also works with the Monroe County Health Department at rabies clinics, providing free rabies shots to hundreds of pets in the community.
Outside of work, Dr. Lewis enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time outdoors trying to keep up with her husband and son! She currently has an elderly mixed breed dog that was adopted from St. Kitts, and a greyhound who had a brief career in the sport of lure coursing. She also has a snowshoe cat, who enjoys being handsome and cuddling with his mom. Dr. Lewis is happy to be a part of the Webster Veterinary Clinic team! She is excited to be able to care for pets and their families in the Webster area, where she and her family have decided to call home.
Nikki // Hospital Manager
A native Rochesterian, Nikki knew from an early age that she was destined for a career in the veterinary field. She enjoyed a childhood filled with unusual pets and weekends in Pen Yann meeting creatures of the larger variety. Nikki started working as a kennel assistant while she was still in high school and fell in love with her work. She went on to attend Suny Canton and graduated in 2004 with an AS in Veterinary Technology. Since then Nikki has enjoyed working as a New York State licensed Veterinary Technician and Kennel Manager. Nikki has 15 years’ experience working with small animal, wildlife and exotics and her professional interests include surgery, anesthesia, emergency care and clinical pathology. In the future, she plans to obtain a certification in a clinical medicine specialty.
Nikki joined the Webster Veterinary Clinic team in 2013.
At home Nikki enjoys spending time with her 2 Olde English Bulldogges and her American Bulldogge, as well as her 2 cats and her corn snake. She enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling to Pen Yann to spend time with her family. Nikki also enjoys volunteering with her registered therapy dog, JD, visiting local schools and nursing homes.
Robin // Pet Care Coordinator
Robin has been a member of the Webster Veterinary Team in various roles for 26 years. She currently serves as a Pet Care Coordinator. Her responsibilities include coordinating patients’ medical care and facilitating communications between doctors, technicians, and clients.
Robin and her husband have had Irish Setters since 1979. They are their kids. Robin has trained and shown in confirmation, obedience, field, agility, rally, lure coursing, and therapy. She previously owned an obedience school where she primarily trained obedience and rally, but also gave confirmation handling classes. She is a member of the Dog Obedience Training Club of Rochester NY, The Irish Setter Club of Western NY, and the Irish Setter Club of America.
She currently trains and shows her two youngest dogs in breed, agility, obedience, and rally. Her two older dogs are retired from training and showing, and are busy playing and keeping the sofa warm. Robin and her husband love to camp and have traveled thousands of miles with their dogs. Wherever they go, they are ambassadors for the breed and well trained dogs.
In the past ten years, Robin has bred/co-bred four litters of Irish Setters. She loves breeding, raising, and training healthy, well-rounded puppies that are as happy in the home as they are in the field or show ring.
Angela // Pet Care Coordinator
Angela has been a Pet Care Coordinator since 2013. Prior to joining Webster Veterinary Clinic, she was a Direct Support Professional with Heritage Christian Services. She attended Monroe Community College and is a certified Medical Office Assistant.
Her professional interests include radiography. Angela plans to return to school to become a Radiology Technician.
Angela has always had a love for animals, especially horses. In her teenage years, she worked as a Groom for a local horse farm and assisted in riding lessons. She currently lives with several cats and horses. In her spare time, you will likely find her at the barn training for equestrian jumper’s competitions.
Angela has spent most of her life in Webster and she and her family have been long standing clients at Webster Veterinary Clinic.
Pattie // Pet Care Coordinator
Pattie became a member of the Webster Veterinary Clinic team in 2012 and works in our front office as a Pet Care Coordinator. Her prior work experience includes serving Bausch and Lomb for 37 years as a Human Resource Representative.
Pattie’s love for animals has always been a big part of her life. She grew up in a household with many cats and dogs.
Currently, Pattie is owned by 4 English Cocker Spaniels, ranging in age from 10 months to 12 years. She enjoys spending time with her ‘fur kids’ training, taking walks, and running in the park. She and her dogs participate in performance events such as rally, obedience, agility, and the conformation ring. Two of her dogs are Certified Therapy Dogs. They visit libraries for the PAWS for Reading program and visit senior life centers and homes. Pattie loves to experience the joy her dogs bring to others.
Jennifer L // Licensed Veterinary Tech.
From bartending to practicing as an EMT for Rural Metro, Jen has worked in many different fields before finally settling into her career as a licensed veterinary technician. As a Rochester native, she graduated from Greece Arcadia High School in 2002 and continued on to get her AS in Liberal arts and sciences from MCC. After living in Florida for a year and a half Jen moved back home to Rochester and decided to fulfill her dream of doing what she loved. Jen worked as a kennel attendant and then technician’s assistant before deciding to go back to school to become a veterinary technician. She graduated from Medaille College in 2012 and joined our team here at Webster Veterinary Clinic in 2013.
Her professional goals include learning more about opthalmetry and physical therapy. Someday she would like to become certified in canine rehabilitation.
Jen enjoys spending time with her 11 year old lab mix, Jack, her 2 year old boxer mix, Henry, and her cat Rocky. Living in Irondequoit with her fiancé, Matt, they enjoy cooking, trying new foods and wine, and have recently begun dabbling in growing vegetable gardens.
Jennifer N // Licensed Veterinary Tech.
Jen has been working in the veterinary field for almost 16 years. She began as a kennel assistant and then became an animal care assistant. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree from SUNY Cortland in Biology, but could not find a position that she enjoyed as much as working in a veterinary hospital. Jen then went back to school for an AS in Veterinary Technology and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Her professional interests include parasitology, laboratory analysis, and working with pediatrics.
She has worked locally at an animal shelter and a private practice. After taking some time to spend with her growing family, Jen joined Webster Veterinary Clinic in 2013.
Jen shares her home with four dogs, five cats, and two young boys. She also breeds and shows chinchillas.
